Baby Essentials - Weekend Getaway Edition
The long weekend is approaching quickly and we are ready to start packing our family up for our weekend getaway trip. That got us thinking, what are some of the best baby essentials to pack with us on our trip?
Here is a list of our favorite essentials to bring with you on your next weekend trip!
Large diaper bag. We especially love the Provence Bag by Coco + Kiwi. This bag is perfect for a weekend trip and can fit everything we need and then some. This bag comes loaded with 9 pockets for organization, outside pockets, and insulated bottle pockets. Perfect for travel!
Noise Machine - We can’t leave the house without a white noise machine. It helps our little one calm down and fall asleep. The one we use over at our house is a Sound Bub from WavHello. It is rechargeable and can be easily taken anywhere with you and your baby. It also doubles as a bluetooth speak, so you can play any music you want to.
Thin Muslin Blankets - We have to have a few of these in our bag. You never know when you will need a light blanket to help cover, wrap, snuggle, and use to clean up with. Our must have is Aden + Anais swaddle blanket, they come in the cutest prints and can roll up easily to pack away.
Sun Hat - The worse is when you realize your baby is going to be in the sun a lot and you didn’t bring a hat to protect them. It is best to get a hat that has a larger brim and shades your babies face well. The one we are bringing for our weekend is a white hat from Amazon, which will go great with any outfit too.
Basic Onesies - You just never know when your baby will have a blow-out or get a stain on their clothes. We always pack a few extra basic onesies just in case. Our go to is basic onesies by Gerber, bonus you can get it at Target!
Teethers - Our baby is in major teething mode right now and we can’t go anywhere without her teethers. She loves to play with them and hold her teethers in her hands. Some of her favorites are the Little Teether’s pineapple or bow teether toy. They are an easy item to pack too, since they are small and compact.
Snacks - Whose baby is an addict puffer? Raise your hand! Don’t forget the snacks. Especially if you are taking a long car ride to getaway. It is always good to have on hand in case your sweet baby turns in a grumpy gill. Our baby isn’t quite ready for solids yet, but when she is ready we will be grabbing a box of Plum Organic, Super Puffs.
First Aid Kit - Accidents happen and it is always good to be prepared just in case. We are grabbing our MediBuddy First Aid Kit by Me4Kidz. This adorable kit is loaded with 50 items to help with any ouchies.
Now that you have the essentials, sprinkle in your babies favorite toys and books. Don’t forget sunscreen, diapers, wipes, and diaper rash cream. Your baby's favorite morning and bedtime lotions and bath soap. A carrier or sling, one that folds easily into your diaper bag. Extra pacifiers, bottles, and bibs.
You and your baby are ready to be on your way to a great weekend! Don’t forget to take lots of pictures. Enjoy your family time!
